The University of North Texas is a big part of what makes Denton the best small town in America. Here is a petition that’s asking the University to put gender-neutral restrooms in all of the UNT buildings.
Lets try to make our University a better place by making it a more comfortable place for every one that attends. This petition isn’t exclusively for students who attend the school, but for anyone who believes that all institutions should take these steps to make our society a better place!

A very Happy birthday to ODR co-owner Colin W. he’s 20-years old today! Wish him a good one!
You say you just wanna be care free
I just want you to care for me
I know it’s been hard
I don’t need anything from you
I’ll pick you up if you’re feeling blue
We could split a spliff or two
You’ve been working way too hard
You should come and rest in my arms
This one goes out to the moon and sun
This one goes to everyone
Been hard, I know it’s been hard for you

speaking of WAVE SWINGER , here is a little EP we put out a few weeks ago.
"Rib Cage" was born while rehearsing for our first show together as a duo in december ‘13. "Bless Our Homes" was originally jammed out during a house show we played as a trio with synth-man Adalberto R.
Aliz & I felt like we should preserve a memory of these two, before they eventually warp into something totally different.
Very dark noise, straight to cassette. This two song EP is amazing!

Goldeen - Off Duty Detective
Label: Olympic Dreams Records
Released: August 27, 2013
Olympic Dreams Records is a cassette tape label out of Denton and their first official release was Goldeen's “Off Duty Detective”. The CD-R came stuffed with a handmade patch and a later cassette version would come with a dried flower inside of the cassette.
This album is really heavy on the synths but if you’re a fan of 80s revival (or Miami Vice) then this album is for you.
Check it out!! Goldeen’s CD-R version of “ODD” was featured on Denton Record Chronicles! Follow the blog and get schooled on Denton music history. Our city is packed with so many good LPs, EPs, 7”, and other musical rarities!
Fun Fact: “Off Duty Detective” was the only album we’ve released on CD! We decided to stick with cassettes, maybe we’re just nostalgic or something! -Maybe a different format(Not CD/Cassette) coming soon?? Who knows!
With the last winter days coming to an end, John Rusch (Blessin’/Moonbather drummer) brings us his fun and quirky yet sometimes serious catalog of songs that will hook you in, sit you down, and make you listen.
When and where did you record your EPs?
progressively over last summer for milkwalker and in december/january for reposed in my room/unt music practice buildings
I know some people call your house the ‘Fryternity’ house, where does the name come from?
it comes from the fact that the house is on fry st, but it is also because we will be friends for eternity
How can someone go about joining?
in my mind by being friendly, with that being said i think it’s important to note that “fryternity” is just a playful change-up to refer to a place and not necessarily representative of a deliberate “brotherhood” or anything
What is your writing process like?
usually I’ll record or program something on guitar/computer that is satisfactory and desires completion and I will do that
Something about your songs is that they give off a feeling of honesty. What influenced these songs?
i’ll say that for a lot of them i tried to make songs i would like and let them develop as naturally possible. Some were influenced by the need to rectify my emotions and externalize them somehow because I had been luring myself into feeling pretty negative about certain issues.
Also do you have a dog?-big dog feat mutt sounds like you dream of having a bestfriend.
I had a dog growing up, and yes certainly looking for a cute animal friend who I can be very close with
What song on ‘reposed’ means the most to you?
the song “reposed” probably means the most to me
Which song did you have the most fun recording?
"magicmountain" was the most fun to record because it was the first time I’ve recorded saxophone and overall it is pretty different than what I’ve done in the past.
I know you emailed Nathan’s Hot dogs, any word on that?
Nathan’s famous hot dogs has yet to get back to me, however hillshire farms brand sent me a sterile-sounding email saying they liked my song.
